What Goes into a Good Event Recording

• We help choose strategic angles tailored to your event: When we put together a video package for an event, we don't just bring a couple of cameras and call it a shoot. We create a system that fits your specific needs. We'll look at the venue, your stage layout, and planned programming to strategically determine what angles would be useful to have. And a "good angle" isn't always just pointing a camera from the back of the room at the action. It is also a matter of physically having the camera in a spot that allows the operator to capture the most satisfying perspective of that action. Ultimately, we seek to give viewers the best seat in the house for everything that happens on stage. Since all of our gear is portable, it can be set up almost anywhere to customize the system each event and create a more satisfying recording.

• Skilled Operators: We bring skilled camera operators who know how to frame the action comfortably, track movement, expose for the lighting, check focus, and keep a shot steady.

• Audio: Our recording and live-streaming systems are built to have direct connections with our audio systems, receiving direct, clear, in-sync audio from microphones and playback rather than relying on built-in camera microphones. Audio stays steady as we cut between cameras for a seamless viewing experience.

• Lighting: As an additional service, we can provide theatrical-grade wash lighting for your stage to illuminate the action. To take it a step further, add some color on the background with uplighting.

• Reliable Recorders: We use professional broadcast decks and camcorders to record visually lossless feeds of individual cameras, inputs and the final cut without crashing, running out of storage or overheating (things we've seen happen with phones and tablets).

• Live Switching for Fast Delivery: If you need a super-fast delivery of your recording, we can cut (edit) it live on-site (regardless of whether we are livestreaming or not) and offload a finished product right after the event. We also offer 24-hour-turnarounds for re-edits if needed, and our standard edits generally deliver within 7 days.

Expanding the Video Recording System

What's great about our recording systems is that they can become more than just recording systems - they are part of the larger video and A/V system as a whole (and really, a major part of it).

If you hired us for a livestream, we have to feed that stream with a video recording system. But it also goes the other way around: If you hired us just for recording and you're already paying for a nice camera system, the benefits of adding a livestream might be worth considering.

If you have TVs or projectors in your AV plan, the video feeds from our cameras can be sent to them for something called IMAG, where your speakers or the action are projected in close-ups to screens at the sides of the stage. This gives the audience a potentially better perspective of the action and makes your event look extra polished and more active.
