The “Why” Behind Streaming

We know how, and you probably know when, but the question of "why?" still remains: Why should you stream your event?

We work on conferences where the hosts gain more attendees and even presenters by adopting streaming or hybrid conferencing, adding value and attracting those who do not wish to or can't travel. Especially for smaller organizations, it just makes sense: If you've already got the other pieces of the AV puzzle in place, why not add in livestreaming or hybrid conferencing to dramatically change the possibilities of your event? Livestreaming can significantly enhance your reach, engagement, and image. Livestreaming tells the world, “We take this seriously, and you should too.”

Expand Reach and Engagement. Livestreaming breaks geographical barriers, allowing people from all over the world to participate. Do you want to invite a speaker from another continent but don't have the budget to fly them in? Have them present online instead. On top of presenters, attendees who are unable to come in person due to various constraints can still watch and participate in the event.

Often, meetings and conferences are about sharing and discussing ideas. By broadcasting your event to the world and including minds with varying backgrounds to your events, you can create a more fail-proof thinktank and open up broader networking avenues.

Real-Time Interaction with chat features, polls, and Q&A sessions helps engage with the audience in real-time. Even more helpful, people are on a computer during the event, which makes it super easy to encourage sharing and interaction on social platforms to boost your online presence.

Build a Successful Image. When people see that you've put in the time and resources to record, stream, and turn your event into a production, they see success. In a world saturated with content, presentation matters. Whether it's a fundraiser, a church service, a memorial, a panel discussion, or a concert, the way you present your event reflects directly on the people and mission behind it.

Cost-effectiveness. Reduced travel and accommodation costs save money for both your organization and attendees; with a livestream, no physical travel is necessary. Livestreams and hybrid events are also extremely scalable! Accommodate practically any number of viewers without increasing costs.

And here's another cool idea: virtual sponsorships. Sell sponsorship opportunities to related businesses by placing their logo or ad into your stream, bringing their brand in front of all the right people at the right time. We've seen this bring in hundreds to thousands per sponsorship depending on the size of the event.

Content Longevity. After the event is over, you can provide our high quality recorded version to those who missed the live broadcast, increasing the lifespan of your content. This content can be re-edited for social media, event highlight reels, or to make an advertisement for the next event in a series.

Want to ensure everyone has a chance to attend the event? Even if it's not entirely live, you could take it a step further and offer an after-the-fact stream of the recorded event for a slightly reduced price.
